ALTOS LAS HORMIGAS ("Ants Heights") mission is to build quality through patient work. In Mendoza we have found the place that we were looking for, a place where traditional values of wine can be reinvigorated with a modern approach, to produce a unique, contemporary wine. We believe that our Mission here is to build, and to keep on building as this terroir keeps responding to our work, and rewarding our work with its beauties.
"A job for Ants" is the Argentine say for humble, patient, extended work; therefore the Ant is our symbol and our good luck charm. We work with great pride, but we are aware that keeping an open mindset, humble enough to be always willing to learn new lessons, is the secret to grow as persons and as winemakers.
ALH is about exploring new and old ways of making wine, we study tradition, in order to innovate. Our working method is the continuous effort to combine the care and dedication of a XV century Italian craftsman, together with cosmopolite knowledge of techniques and an eye open on Technological and Scientific advance. All this is devoted to the goal of delivering a Wine which is the cleanest, freshest expression of Mendoza Malbec, an expression of depth and authenticity.
We believe that wine is produced partly by the talent of Nature and partly by the talent of Man; we believe that wine can be a very pleasant example of a possible harmony between Man and Nature.

ALTOS LAS HORMIGAS MALBEC RESERVA 2006 - The color is very intense, but at a time shiny and vivid. Nose of captivating complexity, with bold layered fruit notes such as marasca cherry and plum, and hints of the most different spices. Creamy and round entry, with uplifted persistent finish. COLONIA LAS LIEBRES BONARDA 2007 - Vivid color with handsome ruby and purple hues. Deep nose of fresh berries, such as strawberry and raspberry. Smooth and ample in the beginning, the palate ends with a pleasant light acidity, which uplifts its freshness and persistence. The wine refelcts both the grape, with its deep and vibrant fruit, and the vintage, with its concentration and texture.
